Landscape and terracing

There is no place like Valtellina, it’s a harsh land surrounded by the majestic Alps. It’s rich in biodiversity and variability from a geologic, morphological and environmental point of view. The Rhaetian side hosts over 850 hectares of vineyards that flourish thanks to the extraordinary microclimate guaranteed by the South exposure towards light and sun heat. The abundance of the territory is remarked in the wines produced in Valtellina where the harsh conditions were improved by men and shaped into 2.500 kilometers of terracing candidate to be a Unesco’s World Heritage Site. Valtellina is the widest terraced area in Italy, and it’s the ideal place to grow the Nebbiolo varietal and most of all, an amazing destination to visit not only for wine enthusiasts but also for every kind of traveler and tourist.
